Hi, welcome to my foodie heaven! This is where I share my tasty and nourishing food creations. I am a university qualified Nutritionist & co-founder of Food to Nourish Australia. Creating fantastic food that is both healthy and delicious is my passion. There is so much joy and pleasure to be had from a delicious meal. And I believe it can be equally as nutritious as it can be tasty!
My mission is to help spread the real food word to as many people as possible. This means breaking down common diet myths and teaching people what real food is all about. Real food for me includes plenty of vegetables and fruits, grass fed meats, free-range eggs, organic full fat dairy products, sprouted grains and legumes, healthy fats, fermented foods, nuts and seeds.
My own journey with my own health has not been an easy one. I have had to deal with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, an auto-immune condition that affects the thyroid gland, and also Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. The impact of both of these conditions has had a significant impact on my health and set me on a huge journey to find the best way possible of nourishing and treating myself using food as medicine.
What I’ve discovered on my journey I share through my writing and recipes on this blog. All of my recipes focus on using the most nutrient dense foods available. You’ll find my recipes easy and simple to follow, healthy but not lacking in flavour.
My nutrition knowledge and experience comes backed up by years of study. In order for me to guide you in your food choices I feel it’s important that I am not only qualified to do this but also stay up to date with the latest info.
I have graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Health Science in Complementary Medicine. I have an Advanced Diploma of Nutritional Medicine and a Diploma of Nutrition from the Australasian College of Natural Therapies. And I am currently studying a Master of Human Nutrition at Deakin University. I am also a registered member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS).
